Sinus Augmentation
Procedure to support dental implant
In some cases, when an upper back tooth is extracted, the maxillary sinus, a large air space located above the roots of these teeth, may expand in size. This condition is known as pneumatization of the sinus. While it is not harmful, it can result in insufficient vertical bone height for dental implant placement. To address this issue and ensure proper implant stability, a procedure called sinus augmentation, commonly referred to as a sinus lift, can be performed. The sinus augmentation procedure helps create additional bone height, enabling successful placement of dental implants.
