Ridge Augmentation / Guided Bone Regeneration
Procedure to support dental implant
In certain situations, if a tooth was removed a long time ago or without socket preservation, it can lead to bone loss and may make it difficult to place implants securely. If you’re in this situation and wish to have implants, but there isn’t enough bone to support them properly due to ridge resorption, a ridge augmentation can be performed (also referred to as a guided bone regeneration or GBR). During ridge augmentation, the width and sometimes the height of the bone can be increased, preparing the ridge to support dental implant placement. This procedure helps create a more stable foundation for your implants, increasing the chances of a successful outcome.
