Orthodontic Surgery (Exposure Of Impacted Teeth)
Occasionally, a patient may experience the situation where their permanent teeth do not emerge as they should. When a tooth remains trapped beneath the gum, we refer to it as an impacted tooth. This commonly happens to wisdom teeth, but it can also occur to canines (or cuspids), which are crucial teeth for proper dental alignment. To address this issue, a procedure known as surgical exposure is performed. During this procedure, a small orthodontic attachment device is glued to the impacted tooth with the purpose of gently guiding and pulling the tooth into its proper position within the dental arch.
