As a result, the root structure may weaken, leading to potential tooth loss if left untreated. Regular dental check-ups and timely intervention are important to detect and address external root resorption early. Treatment options may include root canal therapy and/or a surgical restorative procedure. In cases of extensive resorption, depending on the severity, extraction may be recommended as a treatment option.
